Agri News : 47.94 lakh tonnes of paddy in Haryana MarketHome

In Haryana state more than 47.94 lakh tonnes of paddy has arrived during the current kharif season at grain markets till November 5 as against 33.94 lakh tonnes during the corresponding period last year.

Of the total arrival, more than 42.45 lakh tonnes of paddy was leviable and 5.48 lakh tonnes paddy was non-leviable, a spokesman of the State's Food and Supplies Department said here today.

He said that Karnal was leading in paddy arrivals at 10.03 lakh tonnes. Farmers have been advised to clean and dry their harvest properly before bringing them to the market so that they do not have to face any problems in storage due to high moisture content.
