About Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University Hyderabad

The University was founded on March 20, 1965 by Late Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri, the then Hon'ble Prime Minister of India. The University was renamed as Acharya N. G. Ranga Agricultural University on November 7th 1996 in honour and memory of an outstanding Parliamentarian Acharya N.G. Ranga.

The Acharya N. G. Ranga Agricultural University is considered as the largest in India with an infrastructure of 15 Colleges, 46 Research stations distributed in 9 Agro-climatic zones of the State, 54 Agricultural Polytechnics, 22 District Agricultural Advisory and Transfer of Technology Centres (DAATTCs), 16 Krishi Vigyan Kendras, one Agricultural Technology and Information Centre (ATIC).

University has strong infrastructure. The ANGRAU Library System is having 14 libraries apart from University Central Library located at headquarters in Hyderabad. University has organized 47th Annual Convocation in the first week of January, 2016.
