Qualification:
M.Sc. (Ag.) in Agronomy or related sciences.
Preference will be given to candidate having experience in conducting field experiments and demonstrations in farmer fields in a farmer’s participatory mode.
Experience on working with rice/farm mechanization/direct-seeded rice in farmers’ fields is more desirable.

Responsibilities:
Participatory evaluation, demonstration and scaling-up of direct-seeded rice and enhanced water use efficiency interventions in selected district of Andhra Pradesh (A.P.).
Participatory evaluation and popularization of improved cultivars and management practices for increased rice production in selected districts of A. P.
Capacity building of field technician/s and farmers in the areas of direct-seeded rice and enhanced water use efficiency methods.
Consolidate, evaluate and analyse research data using appropriate advanced statistical tools independently.
Contribute to the preparation of reports, publications, and presentations by summarizing research findings and draft manuscripts for publication in refereed journals, provide inputs to project reports, prepare posters and papers for presentation at local and international conferences.
Collaborate with Andhra Pradesh state agriculture department officials for the implementation of planned research and extension activities.

Competencies:
Fluency in both written and spoken Telugu and English. Well versed with computer operations and digitized reporting. People with flair for field work, group interactions and suitable experience will be preferred.
Proficiency in Computer skills (MS-Office, data analysis).
Working in inter-disciplinary team in multicultural and multinational environment and the ability to interact with partner organizations.

General:
This is a Locally Recruited Staff (LRS) position is for one year, renewable based on the performance of the incumbent and the institutes continuing need for the position. An attractive compensation is offered for the right candidate.
