Goa Govt Released Development of Horticulture 2018 Scheme

Panaji : To encourage youth to take up production of various horticulture crops, in a bid to increase the area and productivity of horticultural crops, the scheme called Development of Horticulture 2018 was released by the Goa government with various incentives and assistance.

The scheme also aims to promote the greening of Goa in an economically-viable and sustainable manner and to boost floriculture activity, increase production of quality vegetables. The scheme also provides financial assistance for the distribution of fruit plants for a homestead garden.

To avail the benefits of this scheme, all owners of land willing to cultivate agricultural or horticultural crops are eligible. For this, the applicant’s name should reflect in the Krishi Card abstract as owner or having right for cultivation.

The land must be in the applicant’s own name or inherited or taken on lease for a period of not less than 10 years. Those holding land on lease should have a valid period of at least eight years on the date of application. However, in case of annual flowers and vegetables, the lease period will be a minimum of two years
