Groene Designated “Friend of Agriculture” by Nebraska Farm Bureau-PAC

LINCOLN, NEB. – Mike Groene of North Platte has been designated a “Friend of Agriculture” by Nebraska Farm Bureau’s political action committee (NEFB-PAC). Groene is seeking re-election to represent District 42 in the Nebraska Legislature.

“As Chair of the Education Committee and as a member of the Revenue Committee, Mike Groene has worked to find solutions to address our state’s overreliance on property taxes and address the way in which our state funds education,” said Mark McHargue of Central City, chairman of NEFB-PAC and first vice president of Nebraska Farm Bureau.

According to McHargue, there is still much work that needs to be done on those issues, and Groene is on the right path in continuing to make property taxes and school funding a priority issue in the Nebraska Legislature.

“Sen. Groene’s desire to address the property tax issue is a priority shared by the Nebraska Farm Bureau and its members,” said McHargue. “We are pleased to offer our support for Sen. Groene as he seeks re-election to the District 42 seat in the Legislature,” said McHargue.

Nebraska Farm Bureau’s “Friend of Agriculture” designation is given to selected candidates for public office based on their commitment to and positions on agricultural issues, qualifications, previous experience, communication abilities, and their ability to represent their district.

The Nebraska Farm Bureau is a grassroots, state-wide organization dedicated to supporting farm and ranch families and working for the benefit of all Nebraskans through a wide variety of educational, service and advocacy efforts. More than 61,000 families across Nebraska are Farm Bureau members, working together to achieve rural and urban prosperity as agriculture is a key fuel to Nebraska’s economy.
