Pulses News: Conference on “Pulses for Nutritional Security and Agricultural Sustainability”

India is the world's largest producer, importer and consumer of pulses. India is the world's largest producer, importer and consumer of pulses. Availability of pulses has progressively decreased from 65g a day in 1961 to 39.4 g in 2011, whereas, availability of cereals has gone up from 399.7 to 423.5g.

Pulses are the economical source of vegetable protein. Higher consumption of pulses will help address the scourge of pervasive malnutrition caused by protein deficiency.

Indian Society of Pulse Research and Development in association with Indian Institute of Pulses research, Kanpur under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi has planned to organize the International Conference on “Pulses for Nutritional Security and Agricultural Sustainability” during November 12-14, 2016 at New Delhi.

Call of Papers: The participants of the conference submit abstracts of the papers for oral or poster presentation on all the pulses including arid legumes and forage legumes. Abstract should not be more than 300 words.
