PAU Imparts Training to Flower Growers

Ludhiana: A training camp for PAU Flower Growers Association organized by the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU). A total of 70 members attended the camp, held under the aegis of Directorate of Extension Education, PAU.

In his welcome remarks, Dr T.S. Riar, Programme Coordinator, urged the flower growers to opt for common marketing and motivate fellow farmers to divert area from paddy-wheat to cash crops like vegetables and flowers.

This will result in financial sustainability, thus, improving the living standards of the rural populace, he added.

Dr M.S. Sidhu, a farm economics expert, delivered a talk on impact of GST (Goods and Services Tax) on agricultural development.

Dr Ranjit Singh, a floriculture expert, explained about the cultivation of marigold. Later, an interaction was held among the flower growers and the PAU experts in which all the queries of the participants were addressed.
