Divergent trends of edible oils

On Monday a divergent trend prevailed on the oils and oilseeds market. Groundnut oil and cotton refined held steady, while sunflower solvent refined declined due to lack of demand. Groundnut oil was offered at its earlier level of Rs. 412 per kg.

In supplementary oils, cotton refined also remained unmoved at Rs. 280 per 10 kg while sunflower solvent refined eased by Rs.2 to Rs. 262 per 10 kg.

In imported section, all varieties of oils ruled overall steady and were quoted as under: RBD palmolein Rs.218; soyabean refined Rs. 241; crude Rs. 241; sunflower crude Rs. 230; rapeseed crude Rs. 226 and refined Rs. 242 per 10 kg respectively. In Mumbai, castorseeds September futures contract opened high at Rs. 1,607 a quintal after it closed at Rs. 1,612 on the previous day. The contract touched a low of Rs. 1,591 and closed at Rs, 1,593 a quintal., as reported.
