The Managing Director of IFFCO informed that during the year 1999-2000, IFFCO recorded the highest ever sale of 51.43 lakh tonnes of fertilisers which comprise 16.58 lakh tonnes of NPK/DAP and 34.85 lakh tonnes of urea as against the previous best of 46.23 lakh tonnes of fertilizers during 1998-99. Sale volume has also gone by 11.3 per cent this year. He further added that the turnover of IFFCO would cross Rs. 4700 crore in 1999-2000 against the previous best of Rs. 3820 crore in 1998-99. IFFCO has achieved a major milestone for the first time in fertilizer sector in India. The company has decided to diversify into General Insurance to serve the needs of farmers, trade, industry and individuals. |
