Sugar prices eased further on the Vashi wholesale sugar market here on Friday following increased offerings from mills amidst thin consumer demand. Small grade sugar (S-30) declined to Rs 1,480/1,510 a quintal as against the last close of Rs 1,485/1,511. Medium grade (M-30) was demanded lower by Rs 5 at Rs 1,520/1,550 a quintal from Rs 1,525/1,555 previously. Sugar prices for check-post were quoted lower at Rs 1,460/1,490 a quintal for the S-30 grade and Rs 1,505/1,520 a quintal for the M-30 grade. Sugar prices for ex-mill deliveries also declined to lack of fresh demand and were quoted as under: small grade Rs 1,395/1,420 and medium grade Rs 1,430/1,450 a quintal respectively. |
