Hike in Mango prices in Banglore

In the current summer season the price of mangoes have shot up due to the low production and a delay in the arrival of the fruit in the market. The minimum price per kilo of mangoes range from Rs, 45 and the rates go upto Rs.300 for 15 mangoes which is much more than last year rates which ranged from Rs. 20 to Rs. 200 for a kilo.

According to Banglore market sources the prices range between Rs.50 for a kilo of Bensishan, Rs. 40 for Sendura, Rs.80 to 90 for Mallika, Rs.100 to 120 for Belgaum Appos and Rs. 80 for Malgoba. The Alphonso variety costs around Rs.300 for a crate of 15 mangoes and the Totapuri for Rs. 20 per kilo. The current season is considered as an of season for the mango crop. The harvest this time has been very low that is 40,000-50,000 tonnes as compared to 8 lakh tonnes last year.
