Marico India launched blended oil under the "Saffola" brand. A blend of kardi oil and corn oil, it is perhaps the first blended oil to have corn oil as one of the ingredients. Saffola Kardi and Corn oil blend (Kardi oil – 30 %, corn oil –70%) contains the essential fatty acid – linoleic which is believed to help in reducing blood cholesterol when taken as part of a low fat, low saturated fat, low cholesterol diet. Priced at Rs. 50 per litre, the product is being made available in all the leading distribution outlets – 3,000 distributors and stockists servicing almost 1.2-m retail outlets across the country. |
