Undaunted by the aflatoxin infection, India has managed to retain its dominant position in the south east Asian groundnut markets with a total export of 1.20 lakh tonnes in 99-00. The major buyers of Indian groundnuts were Philippines,Indonesia and Malaysia, which prefer it for processing as the quality and size meet their product specification. However, considering the market of groundnut oil there is decline in the price of groundnut oil by Rs 3 at Rs 365 per 10 kg on weak consumer demand coupled with the normal arrival of stock. Out-of state orders indicated an easy trend. |
