Prices of new red sesameseed in West Bengal and new sunflower seed in Punjab and Haryana mandies were Rs 800-850 a quintal. While domestic oil industry was hit hard due to heavy import coupled with lower prices of domestic oilseeds. Minimum support prices for mustard and sunflower seeds were fixed at Rs 1,100 and Rs. 1,155 a quintal respectively, but mustard after two months, in the producing areas was selling about Rs.1,000 a quintal. |
