Record 210m tonnes grain output in '01-02

India's foodgrain production in the year '01-02 is likely to be an all-time high of 210m tonnes, encouraging the government to set a target of 220m tonne for the year '02-03. The total foodgrain output in the year '01-02 would be nearly 6.8 % more compared to 196m tonnes in '00-01, according to the final estimates. The 6.8% growth in output would be much higher than the targeted 4% growth for the farm sector.
