Though sugar industry was planning to export sugar to Sri Lanka, yet in the absence of confirmation by the government, upcountry demand in sugar remained sluggish. Alos downtrend continued in mill delivery sugar as upcountry buying halted in the wake of news that Maharashtra was about to dispatch 5/6 trucks load of sugar to Delhi. Already, expectations of fully decontral regime has dented the demand. Mawana sugar sold at Rs. 1,512 Amroha, Bulandshahar and Bijnore at Rs 1,400, Chandpur Rs 1,380, Asmoli Rs. 1,401, and Bagpat Rs. 1,410 and RamLuxman Rs. 1,405 a quintal. Mill delivery sugar prices fall from Rs. 1,415/1,570 to Rs. 1,410/1,555 a quintal. Amroha sugar was traded at Rs 1,420, Bundki Rs. 1,411, Mirganj Rs. 1,426, Todarpur Rs. 1,436, and Mawana at Rs. 1,550 a quintal. |
