Bioneem : A new biocide

Biocide based on Azadi-rachtin is extracted from the kernel of neem seeds. Named as BIONEEM, it is a broad-spectrum pesticide, effective on agricultural and plantation crops. It is said to be most environment-friendly, highly biodegradable and leaves no residue on the foodstuff.

BIONEEM contains Azadirachtin as the active ingredient in the proportion of 3000 ppm along with other constituents

It has very strong repellent and deterrent effects, which prevent the insects and mites from colonising the treated plants.

The active ingredient in BIONEEM inhibits sensory receptors of mouthparts, resulting in disorientation of normal probing, feeding and intake of food by insects and mites.

Azadirachtin component of BIONEEM inhibits normal growth and development or insects and mites causing biological failures of their lifecycles.

It is compatible with common insecticides, acaricides, fungicides and foliar nutrients. Therefore it can be an alternative to conventional pesticides in normal spraying or can be used in combination. Even by itself, BIONEEM would give the most effective control of insects and mites, especially when totally residue free product is needed.

BIONEEM pesticide does not leave residue, as its active principles are totally biodegradable. Nor does it create any environmental or pollution problems. It has been made to ensure the following criteria.

1. Protects crops from pest attacks.

2. No harm to natural predators, parasites of pests and pollinators.

3. No resistance to pests.

4. Ideal for Integrated Pest Management Programmes.

5. Totally biodegradable, therefore no ecological or environmental problems.
