In a related development C.I.A.E also reported the successful launch of riding type multi-crop reaper harvester that can be used for harvesting wheat, rice and soyabean. The machine would be an economic substitute for the harvester combines valued at Rs. 8-10 lakhs since it costs around Rs.85, 000/-. While the harvester combines can reap 1.5-2 hectares a day, the multi-crop reaper can harvest 1 hectare a day. Another advantage is that the bruised straw (bhusa) can be obtained by a special attachment. A private firm in Bina has started the commercial manufacture of this harvester. |
