There are number of subsidies and incentives given to agricultural sector by the Central Govt. as well as the State Govt. In underdeveloped countries, these subsidies and incentives are necessary in many ways. It is difficult to list out all the subsidies (direct/indirect) and incentives. Apart from fertilizer, food, fuel, electricity subsidies, there are number of schemes under which subsidies and incentives are given to those who participate in these schemes. Horticultural Development Scheme in Maharashtra, Cold Storage Units, Drip/Sprinkler irrigation, processing units, rural industries, etc. are some of the examples. |
