Shri. Kalyanji Gulabchand, businessman with a wide vision established Bombay Seeds in 1890, and his son  Motilal K. Shah, continued this business at the wholesale vegetable market in Byculla, in South Mumbai (Bombay).

His vision looked beyond farmers requirements of Good Quality Vegetable Seeds and understood the importance of locally grown seed. And it was not long before he established a network of farmers in Maharashtra and Gujarat who could produce good quality vegetable seeds for us.

Bombay Seeds was an agent for several companies in seeds as well as fertilizers, and to name a few in seeds are Royal Slues, S & G, Northupking, Sungrow and Tezier.

We have represented Liverpool Fertilizer Co, for many decades.

Bombay Seeds was the company who worked very closely with farmers in Kashmir Valley in North India to establish it as the alternative seeds production base for crops like Cabbage, Kohl Kohl, Capsicum and other seasonal flowers.
