PAU Inks MoAs for Brewed Fruit Vinergar and PAU Super SMS Technology


Dr. Ashok Kumar informed that PAU has singed 120 MoAs for the commercialization of PAU Super SMS Technology.

Dr. S.S. Chahal, Adjunct Professor, Technology Marketing and IPR Cell informed that PAU has signed 188 MoAs and commercialized 42 technologies including hybrid lines of mustard, chilli and brinjal, bio-fertilizers, leaf colour chart, water testing kit, and other technologies.

Dr. Manpreet Singh, Assistant Engineer, Department of Farm Machinery and Power Engineering informed that the “PAU Super SMS” attachment is becoming popular with a large number of farmers because of its use with combine harvesters for cutting, chopping and uniformly spreading loose straw while harvesting paddy.

Dr. Jaskaran Singh Mahal, Director, Extension, Dr. G.K. Sangha, Dean, College of Basic Sciences and Humanities and Dr. Shammi Kapoor, Head, Department of Microbiology, PAU were also present on the occasion.

The Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, today entered into agreement with Hill Route, IMT Manesar, Gurgaon and Arjan Agriculture Works, Nabha Road, Amloh for licensing of Brewed Fruit Vinegar and PAU Super SMS Technologies in the presence of Dr. B.S. Dhillon, Vice Chancellor, PAU. The MoAs were signed by Mr. Shaminder Singh Brar, Mr. Ram Sarup and Dr Navtej Singh Bains, Director Research, PAU, on behalf of their respective organizations.

Dr. G.S. Kochar, Senior Microbiologist said that the Department of Microbiology, PAU has been actively engaged in research on fermented vinegar. A number of fermentation technologies on Vinegar production from Sugarcane, Grapes and Apple have been recommended and commercialized by PAU. The research focuses on increasing use of fermented/natural vinegar prepared from traditional fruits that carries nutritional and therapeutic values besides value addition of the horticultural produce.

“There is a need to replace synthetic vinegar which, although cheaper, has health concerns and there is no nutritional value, added Dr. Ashok Kumar, Additional Director of Research.
