Livestock Farming: Tips on Hygienic Poultry Processing For Farmers

Ludhiana: Department of livestock products technology, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, was conducted a farmer's training programme from December 16 to 18 on 'hygienic poultry processing and value addition for employment generation and higher revenues.'

Hand-on-training was provided on hygienic processing of poultry birds, packaging and preservation techniques, said Dr Manish Kumar Chatli, course director and head of the department.

Marketing tips for farmers economic benefits are also given to the them. During the programme, various lectures on processing, preservation, value addition, packaging and marketing of meat and meat products was delivered.

Project formulation for seeking loans from banks, Government schemes, licensing programmes, standards and labelling of the food products etc. information was also shared.
